Have you noticed that you don’t stand as straight and tall as you used to?
Researchers at UC San Francisco (UCSF) are offering two research studies that investigate the effects of exercise on stooped posture, known as hyperkyphosis. Both studies meet in small groups led by a physical therapist. Individuals are invited to participate in exercise classes for three or six months.
Exercise classes start December 2013 at no charge to you.
- 3-month Study: One hour class 2 days a week at UCSF Osher Center. Participants in the 3-month study will receive a $50 gift card.
- 6-month Study: One hour class 3 days a week at UCSF Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation and Wellness Center at Mission Bay. Participants in the 6-month study will receive a $100 gift card.
Classes are open to both men and women. Transportation and parking vouchers for visits are available.
You must be 60 years or older to join and walk at least a ¼ block without using a cane or walker.
